Biography

Marathon runner Kurt Schneider placed 47th at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. He won 17 East German championships in the 5K and 10K, and was an eight-time Silesian cross-country champion. In 1925 and 1926 Schneider also won German Championships in the 25 km. He was runner-up in the 10K in 1925 and 1927, and the marathon in 1927 and 1929, placing third in 1928. Schneider was later employed by the city of Hirschberg and became groundskeeper of the sports field “Feigenmund“.
