Biography

High jumper Ingomar Sieghart placed ninth at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics and failed to reach the final four years later in München. At the 1968 Europeans he came in eighth. In both 1966 and 1968 he placed fifth at the European Indoors.

Domestically Sieghart claimed West German titles in 1966 and 1969. His brothers Dieter (pentathlon) and Wolfgang (high jump) also were nationally successful track and field athletes. Ingomar became an engineer for fine mechanics and optical.

Personal Best: HJ – 2.20i (1971).
