Biography

Gianfranco Sardagna played in the Italian First League with Olimpia Milano between 1957-59, and again in 1961-63. In between (1959-61), he played for Virtus Bologna. With the Milano club, he won four Italian titles (1958-59, 1962-63).

Sardagna made his international début against the host country Hungary at the 1955 European Championship. He won a silver medal that same year at the Mediterranean Games in Barcelona, and went on to appear at the 1960 Roma and 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Sardagna won 58 international caps and scored 370 points.
