Biography

Gisele Miró was a Brazilian professional tennis player. Miró achieved a career-best singles ranking of #99 in the world in April 1988, and a doubles ranking of #108 in the world in November 1988. She won three medals, including two golds, at the Pan American Games.

Miró won her first ITF singles title in April 1986 in Caserta, Italy with victory against Wiltrud Probst. At the same event she partnered Bettina Fulco of Argentina to win her first ITF doubles title. Miró won one more singles title in August 1990 when she beat Sabrina Giusto in straight sets in Brasília.

Miró’s best result came at the 1987 Pan American Games when she won the women’s singles title. At the same edition of the Games she won bronze in the mixed doubles and a team gold at the 1991 Pan American Games. She competed in the singles at the 1988 Seoul Olympics where she lost to Katerina Maleeva in the second round.
