Biography

Ioannis Karyofyllis was a Greek track and field athlete who competed in the high jump for Panathinaikos. Karyofyllis was the Panhellenic champion in the discipline in 1927 with his brother Antonios winning the title from 1924–26 and again in 1928. Ioannis competed in the high jump at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, tying for 19th place with eight other athletes, including his brother, who all cleared 1.77 metres.
