Biography

During the 1930s Greek track and field athlete Aristidis Sakellariou won more than a dozen medals in sprint events at the Balkan Championships. Sakellariou won all his gold medals in relay races, with victory in the 4 x 100 metres (1933–34, 1936–38), 4 x 400 metres (1934), and medley relay (1935–36). He won silver medals in both the 100 metres (1936) and the 200 metres (1933–34, 1937). Sakellariou also won Greek titles in the 100 metres in 1938 and the 200 metres in 1934. He was selected to run in both events at the 1936 Berlin Olympics but did not progress from the heats in either race.

Personal Bests: 100 – 10.8 (1938); 200 – 22.3 (1937).
