Biography

Imre Fekete started his sports career with the club of his hometown, MOVE Esztergomi SE. He participated in two sports, athletics and football, at the same time. After graduation, Fekete continued playing both sports at Dorogi AC. In athletics, he primarily competed in the sprinting and jumping disciplines. Fekete was three-time national champion in long and triple jumps, first in 1928, then in 1930 and 1933. He became a Hungarian national team member in both jumps and in 1928 he participated at the Amsterdam Olympics. Later he moved to the Újpest TE and continued his career successfully. He died in World War II, as a victim of deportation. There are no definite sources of information about the time and circumstances of his death, so it is likely that his tragedy occurred between 1944 and 1945.

Personal Bests: LJ – 7.34 (1932); TJ – 14.32 (1927).
