After graduation, Fekete continued playing both sports at Dorogi AC. In athletics, he primarily competed in the sprinting and jumping disciplines. Fekete was three-time national champion in long and triple jumps, first in 1928, then in 1930 and 1933. He became a Hungarian national team member in both jumps and in 1928 he participated at the Amsterdam Olympics. Later he moved to the Újpest TE and continued his career successfully.
