Biography

Valbjörn Þorláksson competed in three Olympics Games, competing in the pole vault in 1960 and the decathlon in 1964 and 1968. He also competed at the European Championships in the decathlon in 1962 and 1966, not finishing in 1966 due to an injury in the 100. His pole vault mark of 4.50 in 1961 was an Icelandic record.
