Biography

Giuseppe Bernardoni was one of the leaders of the renewal of Italian athletics after World War I. He took part in the 400 metres at the 1919 Paris Inter-Allied Games and set the fourth-best Italian time for the year with a mark of 52.4 at Laveno on 24 August. His only major international tournament was the 1920 Antwerp Olympics when he was eliminated in the second round. He repeated his personal best (52.4) at Bergamo on 23 May 1920. Bernardoni never managed to win a national title or set a national record.
