Biography

In 1956 Luigi Gnocchi tied the Italian record for the 100 metres with 10.4, and later ran on the Italian 4x100 relay team. Gnocchi placed fifth with the 4x100 at the 1954 Europeans, but his greatest international meet came in 1955 when he won the sprint triple (100 / 200 / 4x100) at the Mediterranean Games. Gnocchi was Italian Champion in the 100 metres in 1954-56, and competed in 11 internationals between 1953-56.

Personal Best: 100 – 10.4 (1956).
