Fabio Grossi

Fabio Grossi was an Italian track and field athlete who specialised in the 400 metres sprint. During the first half of the 1990s Grossi competed for the national team and won several medals at international competitions. In 1991 he had double success at the Mediterranean Games, winning gold in the individual event, in addition to taking home silver in the 4 × 400 metres relay. The following year he was part of the quartet that ran in the relay at the Barcelona Olympics, with the Italian team placing sixth in the final.

In 1993 Grossi became the Italian indoor champion in the 400 metres. After just missing out on a medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay at the 1994 European Athletics Championships, he won silver in the same event a year later at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Barcelona. His father Luigi was also a sprinter who ran in both the 200 metres and the 4 x 400 metres relay at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics.
