Biography

During the 1930s and 1940s Arnolds Krūkliņš was one of the best competitive racewalkers in Latvia, winning multiple titles and setting several records. At the Latvian championships Krūkliņš won six titles with victory in the 50km (1935), 10km (1941, 1948), 30km (1945, 1948), and 5km (1949). He also won multiple USSR titles including 10km (1945–46), 20km (1945–46), and 50km (1948). Krūkliņš was selected to compete in the 50 kilometres race walk at the 1936 Berlin Olympics but ended up being disqualified during the event.

Personal Best: 50kmW – 4-37:08 (1951).
