Biography

Dutch track and field athlete Jo Goetzee represented Pro Patria in Rotterdam. Goetzee specialised in racewalking and was selected to compete at the 1908 London Olympics. As with many of the Dutch athletes at the Games he was underprepared, failing to advance from the heats in both the 3,500 metres and 10 miles racewalks. Goetzee redeemed himself somewhat when he became the Dutch champion in the 1 English mile and 3,500 metres racewalk in 1909.
