Biography

Norwegian track and field athlete Bjarne Guldager represented Oslo IL where he specialised as a sprinter. Guldager competed during the first half of the 1920s, winning more than a dozen medals at the national championships, including seven golds. His first success came in 1919 when he won bronze in the 100 metres, before going one better the following year to win silver in both the 100 and 200 metres. These results earned him a place on the Olympic team for the 1920 Antwerpen Games but he did not advance from the heats in either race. After the Olympics he did the double to win the Norwegian title in both the 100 and 200 metres in 1921. Guldager then won four consecutive titles in the 100 metres from 1922 to 1925, along with another title in the 200 metres in 1925.

Personal Bests: 100 – 10.8 (1921); 200 – 22.3 (1921).
