Biography

Norwegian track and field athlete Sverre Hansen won multiple national titles in the long jump and the high jump during the 1920s. Hansen’s first medal at the Norwegian championships came in the long jump in 1920 when he won bronze. The following year he became the national long jump champion, winning three further titles over the next three years. He also won four consecutive national titles in the high jump from 1922 to 1925. Hansen’s performances earned him a place on the Olympic team for the 1924 Paris Games where he won bronze in the long jump.
