Primarily a long sprinter, Claro Pellosis ran at the 1960 and 1964 Olympics. In 1962 he also helped the Philippines to a gold medal in the 4x100 at the Asian Games. Pellosis later became a coach, notably leading Lydia de Vega to a 100 metre gold medal at the 1986 Asian Games. He was a physical education teacher who conducted many athletics meets, and he was noted for the degree of organization with which he ran those meets.
