Biography

Krystyna Nowakowska ran the 800 metres at the 1960 Roma Olympics. She was Polish Champion from 1958-60 in the 800. Nowakowska was capped 25 times for Poland, and also competed at the 1958 and 1962 European Championships, placing fifth in 1962. In interstate competitions from 1957-65 Nowakowska had 25 starts with 8 individual wins. Nowakowska set three Polish records for the 800 in 1962, ending with her career PR of 2:05.8. Representing both KSZO Ostrowiec and Legia Warszawa in her career, she was named a Meritorious Sport Champion in Poland.
