Włodzimierz Sokołowski was a Polish track and field athlete who competed in the pole vault. During his career Sokołowski set six national records in the event, in addition to becoming a five-time national champion (1963–66, 1971). From 1962 to 1971 he was a regular in the national athletics team, representing Poland on 22 occasions, including at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. At the Games, however, he failed to record a height in the qualification round and was eliminated. He did record several top-10 finishes at the European Championships, with a best result of fifth in 1971 in Helsinki. Sokołowski also competed as a veteran, winning gold at the 1981 World Masters Championships in the over-40 category.
In 1961 Sokołowski graduated from the Construction Technical School in Częstochowa, before later graduating from the Faculty of Architecture at the Warszawa University of Technology in 1972. He later moved to the United States, where he worked as an architect, working on the design of the original 7 World Trade Center building, in addition to several skyscrapers owned by Donald Trump.
