Biography

Zygfryd Weinberg was a triple jumper who competed at the 1952 Olympics, placing 10th. In 1954 he finished fourth at the European Championships in Bern. He was twice a medalist at the World University Games, winning bronze in 1951 and gold in 1954, when he set the last of his Polish records, recording 15.30 in August 1954 in Budapest. He was Polish Champion five times between 1950-55, also placing second in 1954. He later became a coach, and was made an honorary member of the PZLA.
