Julio Ferrer

Julio Ferrer was a Puerto Rican sprinter and hurdler. Ferrer competed in the 400 metres hurdles at the 1972 München Olympics. He finished in last place in his heat and did not advance to the semi-finals. Four years later Ferrer competed in the 400 metres hurdles and the 4 × 400 metres relay at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. In the hurdles Ferrer reached the semi-finals. In the relay race Ferrer ran along with his brother Pedro Ferrer. The Puerto Rican team finished sixth in their heat and did not advance to the final.

Outside of the Olympics Ferrer won a silver medal at the 1978 Central American and Caribbean Games in the 400 metres hurdles. At the Pan American Games Ferrer finished fourth (1979) and seventh (1983) in the 400 metres hurdles. Ferrer was also a two-time champion in the 400 metres hurdles at the Central American and Caribbean Championships in Athletics (1973 and 1979).
