Biography

Lawrence Frederick “Bob” Roberts was a South African track and field athlete who attended Sidney Sussex College at the University of Cambridge between 1921–24. Roberts was selected to represent South Africa at the 1924 Paris Olympics where he competed in the high jump. He tied eighth with Norway’s Sverre Helgesen with both athletes clearing 1.83 metres in the final.
