Biography

Anders Faager was a sprinter who ran the 400 and 4x400 at the 1972 München Olympics. He competed at the European Championships in 1969 in the 100 and in 1971 in the 400 and both relays. Faager won a gold medal at the 1974 European Indoor Championships as part of the Swedish 4x1 lap relay team. He was Swedish Champion over both 100 and 200 metres in 1969, 1970, and 1972, also winning relay titles in 1970-71 at 4x100 with Wärnamo SK, and in 1975-76 with Malmö AI over 4x400. Faager set four Swedish records for 400 metres, three in 1972 and a final 45.9 in 1974, his personal best. He earned 36 international caps.

Personal Bests: 100 – 10.4 (1969); 200 – 21.11 (1972); 400 – 45.9 (1973).
