Biography

Sweden’s Ulf Högberg was an accomplished middle-distance runner who held the national record in the 1,500 metres from 1971 to 1985. Högberg was a two-time Swedish champion, winning the 1,500 metres title in 1967, and the 800 metres title in 1972. At the 1966 European Athletics Indoor Championships he won bronze in the 1,500 metres.

Högberg competed in the 1,500 metres at the 1972 München Olympics where he reached the semi-finals. He competed in the same event at the 1976 Montréal Olympics but finished in sixth place in his heat and did not advance.
