Nils Sandström was one of the best sprinters in Sweden just after World War I. He was 1919-20 Swedish Champion in the 100, and was also a four-time national champion in the 4 x 100 (1919-21, 1923) and 4 x 400 (1919-22). Sandström held the Swedish record for the 200 from 1917-20 but never won a national title at that distance. Between 1917-25 he earned 23 medals at the Swedish Championships.
