Biography

Czechoslovak long-distance runner Josef Šulc specialised in the marathon. From 1931 to 1942 Šulc won the national marathon title on six occasions. In 1934 he won the Košice Peace Marathon and finished ninth in the race at the European Athletics Championships in Torino. Šulc ran the marathon at the 1936 Berlin Olympics where he finished 38th.

Personal Best: Mar – 2-37:31 (1933).
