Biography

Sherry Calvert threw the javelin for the University of Southern California and later became a track coach at USC. While at USC she was AIAW javelin champion in 1970 and 1972. She would also win four US titles, in 1970-72, and 1978. At the Pan American Games, Calvert won the gold medal with the javelin in 1975 and a silver medal in 1971. She also competed for the US at the 1970 Universiade and in several international dual meets.

Personal Bests: SP – 40-9½ [12.43] (1969); DT – 135-0 [41.15] (1968); JT – 207-11 [63.37] (1978).
