Biography

In addition to his two Olympic appearances, John Deni won 13 AAU walking championships, at various distances from 15 km. to 50 km. He placed in the top six in AAU walking events more than 40 times. He competed for the University of Pittsburgh and later multiple teams, including the Pittsburgh Boys Club, the US Navy, the Oakland Rod & Gun Club, the Pittsburgh Metro Club, the Fraternal Order of Elks #1634, and the Varona Eagles.

Personal Best: 50kmW – 4-48:40 (1952).
