Biography

Harry Hinkel won the AAU 3 miles/5K walk for 10 consecutive years – 1925-34. He also won the AAU 3K walk in 1935-36 and the 7-mile walk in 1926-28. He was from New York where he competed for the Glencoe AC and the Harlem Harriers, but he later competed for the Los Angeles Athletic Club. Hinkel eventually died in Bellingham, Washington.

Personal Bests: 10kmW – 47:05.0 (1926); 50kmW – 5-12:57 (1932).
