Dan Kelly of the University of Oregon was one of the great sprinter/long jumpers of his time. In May 1906 he jumped 24-2¼ (7.37) to become only the third American to break the 24-foot barrier, and the following month in a meet in Spokane he equalled the world records for both the 100y (9.6) and 220y around a turn (21.2) in the same afternoon. Kelly won his only AAU title in the 1907 long jump.
