Biography

Milt Sonsky was a Brooklyn native who attended Brooklyn College, graduating in 1963. He finished second in the javelin at the 1972 AAUs, and was in the top six in that meet four other times between 1967-76. He was also runner-up in the 1972 Olympic Trials. Sonsky was ranked in the US top 10 four times between 1967-74 – 1967 (6th), 1969 (4th), 1972 (3rd), 1974 (6th). Sonsky grew up Jewish and is often listed in compilations of Jewish athletes or Olympians, but he later became a born-again Christian.
