Biography

During the 1930s Croatian track and field athlete Rudolf Markušić competed for Yugoslavia in the javelin throw. Markušić was a three-time champion of Yugoslavia in the event, winning the title in 1936, 1937, and 1945. He competed in the javelin at the 1936 Berlin Olympics where he tied for 20th with Noboru Ueno, with both throwing an estimated 55.00 metres in the qualification round. Markušić also won gold in the javelin at the 1939 Balkan Athletics Championships.
