Biography

Australia and New Zealand competed at the 1908 London Olympics as the combined team of Australasia. Charles Swain was an Australian national who represented the Toowong Harriers in Brisbane in middle-distance running events. Swain competed in the 1,500 metres at the London Games but did not finish in his heat. He had his best result at the Australian national track and field championships in the 1909–10 season when he finished second in the 880 yards.
