Biography

Kálmán Szabó competed for BTC, mainly as a gymnast, but also as a track and field athlete. In 1905, he even won the Hungarian national championship title in pole vault. As a gymnast he competed at two Olympics. In 1906 he participated in both the individual and team event. Four years later he was involved only in team event. In 1908 he won the Hungarian national championship in individual, all-around, as well as the prestigious Vetsey trophy.
