Biography

Sylvia Eder, sister of Elfie Eder, was a four-time Olympic alpine skier from Austria. She participated at the Winter Olympics from Sarajevo 1984 to Lillehammer 1994. Her best result was the ninth place in the giant slalom at Albertville in 1992.

Sylvia Eder became the youngest ever winner of a downhill world cup race (as of 2024) at Bad Gastein in 1982. At World Championships she won three silver medals in 1985 and 1987 (alpine combination), and 1993 (super G). Nationally, she won seven Austrian titles: downhill in 1987, giant slalom 1985-86, slalom 1981, and combination 1981, 1983, and 1987.
