Biography

Hanna Eigel was an Austrian figure skater who placed fifth at the 1956 Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics in the women’s singles. She had more success at the European Championships, winning two gold medals in 1955 and 1957. At World Championships she added a silver in 1957 and a bronze in 1955. Also in 1955, she was named Austrian Sportswoman of the Year.

Nationally, Eigel won a gold medal in 1957 and two silvers, in 1954 and 1955. After her active career, along with her husband Hami Brown, she joined professional skating shows with Wiener (Vienna) Ice Revue and Holiday on Ice.
