Biography

After finishing 13th in the women’s singles at the 1948 European Championships, Austrian figure skater Inge Solar was selected for the St. Moritz Winter Olympics that same year. She then placed 20th, and later turned to coaching and worked with several well-known figure skaters. After her death, a senior- and junior-level figure skating competition called Inge Solar Memorial Alpen Trophy, held at Innsbruck, was named after her.
