Biography

Cross-country skier Anni Unger participated in the 1968 Grenoble and 1972 Sapporo Winter Games. Her best result was fifth place with the 3x5 km relay in 1972. In 1970 she was a member of the 3x5 km relay team that won the first East German cross country medal (silver) at the World Championships. She also won four East German national relay, and three individual titles, in the 5 km (1971) and 10 km (1967 and 1970). She later married Helmut Unger, but both also divorced.
