Jindřich Balcar was a member of the Czechslovakian ski jumping team in the 1970s. He competed at the 1974 World Championships and in the Four Hills Tournament in 1975-76, as well as his appearance at the 1976 Winter Olympics. His career was ended by severe injuries he sustained in Liberec, Czechoslovakia. He later died after a long chronic illness.
