Biography

Hjalmar Bergström was a Swedish cross-country skier who represented Sandviks IK. Bergström won four medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships from 1929–33. Bergström won gold as part of the Swedish team in the 4 × 10 km relay at the 1933 championships. His best individual performance was a silver medal in the 18 kilometres, also in 1933. Bergström competed in the 50 kilometres at the 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen Olympics. He finished in fourth place with Swedish skiers taking a clean-sweep of the medals in the event.
