Biography

Charles-Victor, Baron Bracht, was a wealthy Belgian businessman who led a large international conglomerate that dealt with tropical products, insurance, and construction. The company had offices in Belgium, Zaire, Indonesia, Latin America, and Western European countries. In early March 1978 he was kidnapped while walking to his car in his private parking lot. A month later, his body was found in a marshy dump in Oelegem, an Antwerp suburb. It was later revealed that he was killed by a gunshot wound to the head.
