Biography

Jon Chaffee skiied for Harvard where he also ran cross-country, making All-Ivy in 1965 and 1966 in cross-country. He placed second in the 1968 US biathlon championships, making the Olympic team. In cross-country Chaffee won the 1967 and 1968 Seward’s Mount Marathon races. At the time of his Olympic appearance, he was in the US Army, stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska. Chaffee is the cousin of US Alpine skiiers Rick and Suzy Chaffee .
