Biography

Czechoslovak ice hockey player Vladimír Dvořáček was the goaltender for HC Pardubice throughout his career. During his time with the club Dvořáček played in 422 matches across 12 seasons. After his retirement his number 20 jersey was hung up in the ceiling of the arena in his honour. Dvořáček also played a handful of matches for the Czechoslovakia national team including the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympics. The team finished fourth at the Games, which also served as both the World and European Championships, resulting in Czechoslovakia winning silver as part of the latter.
