Biography

Zahir “King” Raheem fought as a bantamweight at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Losing in an early round, he turned professional shortly thereafter, with his first pro bout in November 1996 when he won by TKO over Cliff Watford. He won his first 25 bouts before losing in July 2004 to Rocky Juárez. Raheem fought Acelino Freitas in April 2006 for the vacant WBO lightweight title, but lost a tough split decision to Freitas.

Raheem had a long career and he went out on top. In 2014 his final fight was for a minor crown, the NABO super-lightweight title, and he won by decision over Bayan Jargal. Morel finished with a career professional record of 35 wins (21 by KO) and only 3 losses.
