Biography

Defender Lennart Johansson, well-known by his nickname Tigern (Tiger), was one of the key players on the Brynäs IF team that dominated Swedish league play from 1964 through 1972. In that period, the club and Johansson won seven titles. His performances earned him selection for the Swedish national team, with which he won a silver medal at the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics. Johansson later became a coach, managing the Swedish team at the 1976 World Championships. He also coached Brynäs for a few seasons, earning an eight Swedish league title in 1980. He later worked for the Culture & Recreation department of the Gävle municipality.
