Biography

Baron Adrien Ferdinand von Türkheim was the founder of the company Lorraine-Dietrich, which produced automobiles, railway equipment and military equipment, and he was also a landowner. Baron von Türkheim owned a castle in Blâmont, the Saint-Pierre castle, acquired after World War I, and also a villa in Neuilly. He was director of the Chemins de Fer de l’Est, and Lorraine Electricity Company. He was a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 1907.

At the 1900 Paris Olympics Baron von Türkheim competed in the automobile racing events, which were held only at the 1900 Paris Olymppics. He finished sixth in the race from Paris – Toulouse – Paris, one of 16 different contests.
