Biography

Danial Jahić was a Serbian long jumper who competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He was Balkan Champion in 1998 with 7.89 metres, the same year he first surpassed 8 metres. He also competed that year at the Junior World Championships, placing fifth. In February 1999 he jumped 8.02 metres indoors in Piraeus, Greece, setting the Serbian indoor record that lasted until 2019. Jahić was champion of Serbia & Montenegro in 2003 and 2005, retiring after the 2005 season. Sadly, he died young, in January 2021, after contracting COVID-19.
