Biography

Lionel Laurent was a French biathlete who mostly featured on their relay teams and in team events. In addition to his 1994 Olympic bronze medal in the relay, he won three medals at the World Championships. These were bronze medals in the 1993 and 1995 team events and a silver in the 1995 relay. Laurent won five French Championships, individual in 1990 and relays in 1989-90, 1993, and 1995. He made 78 starts in World Cup events, with three podiums, but not victories, all in relay or team events. He later became a biathlon coach for the French national women’s team.
