Biography

Henrik Angell founded the Norwegian Ski School in 1903, wrote several books on the history of skiing, and was one of the early pioneers of organized athletics in Norway. Angell was an Army colonel who first met Pierre de Coubertin at the 1905 IOC Session in Bruxelles, and was co-opted onto the IOC in October 1905. He remained a member less than two years and never attended an IOC Session during his tenure.
