Biography

Fritz Hansen was President of the Danish Sports Confederation from 1901-09, and was the first President of the Danish Olympic Committee (1905-1920), and also founded the Nordic Sports Committee for the co-ordination of sports within the Nordic countries. Hansen was a career Army officer who retired with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. He was co-opted onto the IOC in October 1913, and served until his death in November 1921.
