Elizabeth Minter

Elizabeth Minter was an Australian tennis player who played professionally from 1980 to 1995. Minter achieved a career-best singles ranking of #66 in the world in October 1987, and a doubles ranking of #104 in the world in September 1987.

Minter had a promising start to her career when she won the girls’ singles title at the 1983 US Open. Her first WTA doubles title came in September 1984 when she and her sister Anne won in Salt Lake City. Two weeks later she won her only other WTA doubles title, this time with American partner JoAnne Russell in Richmond, Virginia. Minter competed in the singles at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics when tennis was a demonstration sport. Minter only played in one WTA singles final when she lost in straight sets to Sabine Appelmans at the 1995 Croatian Bol Ladies Open in Zagreb.
